Are you getting feed up of hearing oil price increases? It has always been in the spot light but did you hear any new solution to the high cost of petroleum fuel? Well, everyone seems to be looking for a replacement cheap renewable energy resources. There is one that caught my attention, it is the biodiesel fuel. Is It possible to be the replacement green fuel of the millenium Please join me discuss its pros and cons and let us examine how it can help our surroundings.
First, let us explain what is biodiesel fuel all about and why it is becoming so popular among the drivers in almost all parts of the World. Biodiesel fuel is a replacement fuel for diesel engine vehicles that uses petroleum diesel fuel to run their automobiles.
It is made from 87% vegetable oil or animal fats, which are replaceable energy products. This is internationally accepted because it has passed all the testing requirements for health repercussions of the 1990 clean Air Act amendments. Let us now discuss its benefits and flaws.
The advantages are:
• It is more economical
• It is easy to use with.
• It has no bad smell.
The disadvantages are:
• It is not hard to find.
• There are not enough farms to meet the current market demand .
• The production method turns out to use more energy than it can generate.
• It can cause for deforestation of forests and mountain.
• It contributes global warming effect.
The greatest challenges are the following:
• How can we trim down the price?
• To rectify the energy generation ratio.
• How to balance the boosting of farm lands versus the denuding of our mountains.
The good news is that many countries are taking biodiesel development seriously. As a matter of fact there are numerous Biofuel World Events that are planned for this year. Actually there are two big events scheduled early this year. Abu dhabi and Netherlands are the two countries that will be hosting these events.
As a conclusion, I believe that biodiesel fuel is still not ready to replace gasoline oil in fueling our cars and vehicles. However, it could still contribute in the preservation of our non-renewable fossil fuels. With the support and joint effort from our worldwide scientific community, I am still hoping they can find new actions to these challenges. I am looking forward there is still a bright future for the better production of biodiesel fuel so it can become an alternative green fuel that everyone can safely use and buy.
